The "Storm" is Over

It looks like we are flake free for now! The ice is still pretty nasty on the sidewalks but hopefully this sunny day will take care of that. I was lucky enough to get a ride to work today and avoided biting it on the sidewalks.

Slip and Slide

I remember when slipping on the sidewalk used to be fun (circa 1994 before we could drive and wearing our bucks* to the school dance so we could slip home...). It was brutal out there this morning. I was actually thankful not to have a car.

One of my neighbors pulled out of his/her driveway in a Porsche and i just laughed. the wheels were spinning on the road b/c of the ice/slush and it cracked me up. oh, Georgetown.

It's going to stay pretty nasty today as it rains with temps barely above freezing. Be careful getting around!


* bucks were the coolest shoes and they had no tread - i had an ankle pair.

Great for Snowballs!

We have a wet snow coming down...and it will probably fall for most of the day. It looks like a lot of MD and VA schools were closed today. I hope Kimmy has the day off!
The Feds didn't do their usual freak out so I am at work. I took the picture from my co-workers window to capture the snow here at 21 and M. I hope it continues to accumulate so I can hear the snow crunching on my way home from work tonight!

Snow Day on Wednesday?

The snow is approaching! We had a little bit of snow this morning but nothing stuck. My heroes over at the Capital Weather Gang predict that snow could accumulate by tomorrow evening and then turn icy by Wednesday morning. Sounds like a recipe for a federal gov't freak out! i love it! Wear your boots to work tomorrow!

It's Cold in DC but Even Colder in Salem

I just checked the weather for the upcoming nuptials of Melanie and Ben...brrrrr. 11 degrees on Friday and 14 degrees on Saturday. The good news is that the weather channel predicts partly sunny skies! it will be a beautiful day for a wedding!

Ice on the Horizon

Still no snow fall! There is talk of an ice storm coming through this way in the next day or two. Ice is not as much fun as snow. Actually, i don't think ice is fun at all. I want snow!
